Biography

Simon Aban Deng is a South Sudanese-American human rights activist and survivor of child slavery. Abducted at age nine and enslaved for three and a half years in northern Sudan, he escaped and eventually settled in the United States, where he became a prominent voice against modern-day slavery and for South Sudanese self-determination.
