Biography

Richard K. Betts is an American political scientist and international relations scholar specializing in U.S. national security, military strategy, and intelligence. He served as director of the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies and the International Security Policy Program at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs. He has consulted for the National Intelligence Council, the National Security Council, and the CIA.
