Pascal Massie is a philosopher specializing in the history of Western philosophy, particularly ancient and medieval thought. Born in Brittany, France and raised in Paris, his research explores the metaphysical distinction between the actual and the potential first posited by Aristotle. He is the author of Contingency, Time and Possibility: An Essay on Aristotle and Duns Scotus.
