John McGann

John McGann is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Cognitive Science at Rutgers University, where he directs the Laboratory on the Neural Basis of Sensory Cognition. His research uses the olfactory system to study how learning changes sensory processing in the brain, and his landmark 2017 paper in Science debunked the long-held myth that humans have a poor sense of smell. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Yale University.
