Jennifer Jacquet is a professor of environmental science and policy at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, and previously taught at NYU's Department of Environmental Studies from 2012 to 2022. Her research focuses on cooperation, social disapproval, and the role of information technology in shaping environmental action, with particular attention to tragedy-of-the-commons problems. She is the author of Is Shame Necessary? New Uses for an Old Tool.
