Biography

Dr. Rinberg earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science before transitioning to neuroscience research. His work focuses on three main areas: deciphering the fundamental principles of neural coding, exploring olfactory information processing in the brain, and harnessing the olfactory system's remarkable sensitivity as a chemical detector. The lab has developed theoretical frameworks and technologies for brain communication. Beyond his academic role, he directs an NIH-funded consortium called "Cracking the Olfactory Code" involving seven research institutions, and founded Canaery, a startup developing odor digitization through Brain-Machine Interface technology.
