Daphne Merkin

Daphne Merkin is an American novelist, essayist, and literary critic known for her candid writing on family, religion, psychotherapy, and culture. Her novel Enchantment won the Edward Lewis Wallant Award, and her essay collections include Dreaming of Hitler and The Fame Lunches. She has been a staff writer for The New Yorker, a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, and has taught writing at Columbia University's MFA program, Hunter College, and Marymount Manhattan College.
