Director and Chair of Graduate Acting, NYU Tisch; Associate Artistic Director, Classical Theatre of Harlem
Carl Cofield is a New York-based theater director and actor who serves as Associate Artistic Director of the Classical Theatre of Harlem and Chair of the Graduate Acting Program at NYU. He holds an MFA in Directing from Columbia University and has directed numerous Shakespeare productions, including an Afrofuturistic Twelfth Night at Yale Rep and King Lear at St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. He also directed the award-winning world premiere of One Night in Miami, for which he received the Los Angeles NAACP Award for Best Director.
