Biography

Wang holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Brussels (1987) and subsequently transitioned to theoretical and computational neuroscience. He specializes in the neurobiology of executive and cognitive functions and has pioneered neural circuit models of the prefrontal cortex. His research team discovered neural mechanisms underlying decision-making processes. Wang has held visiting positions at MIT, Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, and Tsinghua University in Beijing. He received fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, NSF CAREER Award, and John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
