Vardit Ravitsky holds a Full Professor position at the Bioethics Program at the University of Montreal and serves as Senior Lecturer at Harvard Medical School. She leads the International Association of Bioethics and directs Ethics and Health at the Center for Research on Ethics. As a 2020 Trudeau Foundation Fellow, she chairs the Foundation's COVID-19 Impact Committee. She maintains fellowships with the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the Hastings Center, and serves on advisory boards for CIHR and the National Human Genome Research Institute's Genomics & Society Working Group. Her research, supported by major Canadian funding agencies, encompasses the ethics of genomics and reproduction with over 170 publications addressing bioethical issues. Her scholarly focus includes in-vitro fertilization funding, surplus embryo use, posthumous reproduction, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, gamete donation, epigenetics, prenatal testing, gene editing, and mitochondrial replacement. She earned a BA from the Sorbonne University (Paris), MA from the University of New Mexico, and PhD from Bar-Ilan University (Israel), with prior faculty experience at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Medical Ethics.
