Biography

Thomas J. Carew is a neuroscientist whose research centers on the behavioral, cellular, and molecular analysis of learning and memory. In collaboration with Nobel laureate Eric Kandel, he provided the first evidence for long-term memory and associative learning in the sea slug Aplysia californica. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at NYU from 2011 to 2018.
