Tal Rabin manages the Cryptography Research Group at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center, focusing on cryptography and, more specifically, on secure multiparty computation, threshold cryptography and proactive security. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Hebrew University, Israel (1994) and completed an NSF Postdoc Fellowship at MIT (1994-1996) before joining IBM Research in 1996. She has held leadership roles including Program and General Chair positions at major cryptography conferences and serves as an editor of the Journal of Cryptology. Her professional service includes membership on the SIGACT Executive Board, Computing Community Consortium council, and the Association of Women in Mathematics membership committee. She founded and organizes the Women in Theory Workshop, a biennial graduate student event. Rabin has received media coverage in the New York Times, World Science Festival, and WNYC's Science Fair.
