Robert Kurzban is an evolutionary psychologist who was a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied the nature of evolved cognitive adaptations for social life, including cooperation, morality, and mate choice. Trained by John Tooby and Leda Cosmides at UC Santa Barbara's Center for Evolutionary Psychology, he is the author of Why Everyone (Else) Is a Hypocrite: Evolution and the Modular Mind. His research focused on applying evolutionary approaches to understanding human social behavior.
