Pierre Magistretti
Biography
Pierre J. Magistretti is an Italian-Swiss neuroscientist and Distinguished Professor of Biosciences and Vice-President for Research at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and Professor Emeritus at EPFL. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to brain energy metabolism, with his laboratory pioneering the study of glial cell functions in regulating energy metabolism in relation to synaptic activity. He served as president of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) from 2014 to 2019.
