Associate Professor of English
Michelle Woods specializes in translation studies and literature. She authored three books: Kafka Translated (Bloomsbury, 2013), Censoring Translation (Continuum, 2012), and Translating Milan Kundera (Multilingual Matters, 2006). Currently editing Authorizing Translation (Routledge, 2016) and serves as co-editor of Bloomsbury's Literatures, Cultures, Translation series. Her background includes Irish and Czech heritage, with published translations in Granta and Words Without Borders. She holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin and fellowships from Fulbright (Columbia) and IRCHSS (Dublin City University).
