Biography
Mark Fishman is a professor in the Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology and was the founding President of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) from 2002 to 2016. Previously Chief of Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, he is known for pioneering the use of zebrafish as a model for human disease. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
