Biography
Linda Keen is a mathematician known for her work on Riemann surfaces, hyperbolic geometry, Kleinian groups, Fuchsian groups, and complex analysis. She earned her PhD from NYU's Courant Institute in 1964 under the direction of Lipman Bers and has been on the faculty of CUNY since 1965. She served as president of the Association for Women in Mathematics (1985-1986), vice-president of the American Mathematical Society (1992-1995), and is known in hyperbolic geometry for the Collar lemma.
