Ken A. Dill is a SUNY Distinguished Professor of Physics and Chemistry and founding Director of the Laufer Center for Physical and Quantitative Biology at Stony Brook University. He is best known for his foundational work on the protein folding problem, elucidating how amino acid sequences dictate three-dimensional protein structures. A member of the National Academy of Sciences and past president of the Biophysical Society, he has received the Max Delbruck Prize from the American Physical Society and the Hans Neurath Award from the Protein Society.
