Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Princeton University
Joseph J. Kohn (1932-2023) was a Czech-born American mathematician and Professor of Mathematics at Princeton University, where he held the Henry Burchard Fine research chair. He was a major figure in modern mathematical analysis whose groundbreaking work on the interaction between partial differential equations and functions of several complex variables dominated that area of research for nearly half a century. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences and won the AMS Steele Prize in 1979.
