Jessica Tyler

Jessica Tyler was born in England in 1969. After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a Bachelors degree and Hans Krebs prize in Biochemistry, she performed her PhD studies at the MRC Virology Unit in Glasgow, Scotland. During postdoctoral work at UC San Diego, she identified factors packaging genetic material into chromosomes. She held a faculty position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine from 2000, where she revealed roles of chromosome structure in aging and other processes. She received the Charlotte Friend Woman in Cancer Research Award (2009) and was a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Scholar before relocating to MD Anderson in 2010.
