Professor Tirosh-Samuelson earned her Ph.D. from Hebrew University in 1978. Her scholarly focus centers on Jewish intellectual history, religion and science, and religious environmentalism. She has authored two award-winning books: Between Worlds: The Life and Work of Rabbi David ben Judah Messer Leon (1991) and Happiness in Premodern Judaism: Virtue, Knowledge and Well-Being in Premodern Judaism (2003). She edited eight volumes including works on Hans Jonas, transhumanism, and human futures. She served as editor-in-chief for a 20-book series on contemporary Jewish philosophers. Her research on religion, science, and technology has been supported by three major grants between 2006-2018, funding symposia, lectures, seminars, and conferences. She participates in the International Society of Science and Religion, serves on Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science's editorial board, and manages the Judaism, Science and Medicine Group.
