Biography

G. Bard Ermentrout is a mathematician who uses nonlinear dynamics for the mathematical modeling of problems in neuroscience, including patterns of activity in networks of neurons, olfaction, cortical slices, and working memory. He is the creator of XPPAUT, a widely-used software platform for the simulation and analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems. He is the author of over 200 papers and co-author of 'Mathematical Foundations of Neuroscience' (2010).
