Biography

David Kipping is a British astronomer who leads the Cool Worlds Lab at Columbia University, studying moons and planets beyond our solar system. His research interests include transiting exoplanet detection and characterization, exoplanet atmospheres, Bayesian inference, and understanding stellar hosts. He created and hosts the popular Cool Worlds YouTube channel, which has attracted over 750,000 subscribers through accessible explorations of cosmic frontiers.
