Biography

Cristina Maria Alberini is a Professor of Neuroscience at the Center for Neural Science at New York University, studying the biological mechanisms of long-term memory formation, storage, and reconsolidation. She earned her PhD from the University of Genoa and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University before holding positions at Brown University and Mount Sinai. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2022 and is also a trained psychoanalyst, working to bridge neuroscience and psychoanalysis.
