Poet
Bill holds B.A. and M.F.A degrees from Columbia University and has taught across all educational levels since 1971. He authored three poetry collections and completed notable translations, including Andre Breton's Earthlight (with Zack Rogow), which won the PEN/Book-of-the-Month Translation Prize. His work has appeared in major anthologies and recordings by jazz pianists. The New York State Council on the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts both awarded him fellowships. He received MacDowell Colony fellowships in 2007-2008 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in Poetry in 2008.
