Ben Kafka is an Associate Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, specializing in media history and theory. He holds a PhD in history from Stanford University and is the author of The Demon of Writing: Powers and Failures of Paperwork (2012). He is also a trained psychoanalyst affiliated with Columbia University's Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, and has been a fellow at Princeton's Society of Fellows and the Institute for Advanced Study.
