Alex Abdo is a First Amendment litigator who has been at the forefront of legal challenges involving government surveillance, free speech, and digital rights. At the Knight Institute, he has litigated cases challenging the government's prepublication review system, the constitutionality of government officials blocking critics on social media, and the secrecy of Office of Legal Counsel opinions. He previously spent eight years at the ACLU litigating cases relating to NSA surveillance, encryption, and post-9/11 abuse of detainees.
