Adam J Sacks is pursuing doctoral studies in history at Brown University. He earned a Master of Arts from Brown University, a Master of Science with High Honors from City College of CUNY, and a Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Cornell University. His fellowship experience includes serving as an "Auschwitz Jewish Center Fellow under the auspices of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York" in 2010, and holding the Cahnmann Foundation Fellowship at the Center for Jewish History in 2011-2012. He received the Dissertation Grant from the Central European History Society and served as a Leo Baeck Programme fellow in 2012-2013 at Berlin's Universitat der Kunste. Currently, he holds a Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Shoah Studies with the Claims Conference for Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. His scholarly interests focus on cultural responses to catastrophe, trauma, war, genocide, and cultural representation. His work has appeared in New German Critique, the Association for Jewish Studies Journal, and forthcoming conference proceedings.
